FOR VOLUNTEERS AND POTENTIAL VOLUNTEERS:
Basic Mediation Training Course Offered by the Upstate Mediation Center in Collaboration with the Community Mediation Center of Columbia, SC.
Purpose: Learn to mediate conflicts in Magistrate Court, the workplace, and the community.
Objectives: Qualifies you to mediate cases in Magistrate Court Learn a widely used 7-step mediation process Gain a new perspective on listening Increase your ability to express your needs and interests Learn to appreciate others’ perspectives and autonomy Practice the mediation process and skills in a supportive environment Develop the capacity to help people in conflict by using new skills
Dates and Times: 24 hour course; attendance at all 3 sessions is required! Tuesday, Sept. 14, 8:30AM-4:30PM Wednesday, Sept. 15, 8:30AM-4:30PM Thursday, Sept. 16, 8:30AM-4:30PM

Tuition: $300 for participants who agree to conduct at least 4 days of Magistrate Court mediations by July 1, 2011 $350 for all others Payment in full is due no later than Sept. 13, 2010.
